Declan
I woke first. Jyn had slid away from me sometime in the night, but she was still here, curled up on the other side of the bed. I’d been worried that she’d get up and stroll out, and I’d be left trying to find her.
There was something different about her. It wasn’t just the sex although that was amazing. The fact that she’d been up for bending over in the shower was the best. Now, when I thought of a woman in the shower, it would be her. Jyn of the perfect ass. I could write a song to it, I thought with a grin.
Although I wasn’t sure she would appreciate it.
Quietly, I slipped out of the bed and pulled on my discarded jeans from yesterday. I hadn’t asked her, but I would bet she was a coffee person. I called room service, and ordered tea, coffee, bacon rashers, sausage, fried eggs, and toast, bread, and marmalade. I didn’t know how hungry she’d be, but I was starving.
I’d gone a distance the night before, I thought. If she’d let me, I’d do it again. After the show.
I couldn’t believe she didn’t know I was part of the band. I’d watched her carefully, and nothing about her screamed groupie. Nor did I get the impression she was hiding anything on me, or trying to fish out a story.
She really didn’t know I was in the band. I found that I liked it, but I was going to need to tell her. You know, before she saw me on stage on St. Patrick’s Day. That would not be the way to share your job with someone you were sleeping with.
When breakfast arrived, I could see her stir in the bedroom. The server left the cart, and I went in to see if she was awake.
“Jyn? You want some tea? Or coffee?”
“Oh, lord. Yes, please, to the coffee. I’ll be right out,” she rolled out of the bed naked and put on her sweater. Then her panties, and jeans. She was completely unconcerned that I watched her, fascinated with the way her body moved, the way it looked in the morning light.
“Thank you for ordering coffee. I thought about it last night, but I didn’t remember saying anything to you.”
“I wasn’t sure if you liked coffee or tea, so I ordered both.”
“And breakfast, too,” Jyn smiled widely, stroking me around the waist as she walked from the bedroom into the small sitting room area. “It smells fab!”
“Then let’s eat.”
“I like you, Declan,” Jyn said as she took a bite of sausage. “Food and sex are the signs of a good host.”
“I do aim to please,” I said.
“Well, you do.”
“What are you doing today?” I asked.
She sighed, leaning back into the couch. “I need to go into Dublin. I have a couple of places I want to see, not just for sightseeing, but for my piece. Janie’s guy reserved a car for me. It should be here today.”
“You ready to drive on the right side of the road?”
She laughed.
